PAMP’s Lorna D. O’Hara, CAE selected as interim Executive Director by Recreational Fishing Alliance

TRENTON– The Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) today announced the appointment of an interim Executive Director, Lorna D. O’Hara, CAE. She will replace Jim Donofrio who recently retired after 25 years of service.

Ms. O’Hara has more than twenty years of experience in political development and government affairs within various organizations in and around Washington, DC. She currently heads Princeton Association Management Professionals (PAMP), a division of Princeton Public Affairs Group (PPAG), New Jersey’s number one lobbying firm, and has focused on grasstops and grassroots field campaigns, and political action committee development.

“Ms. O’Hara is the perfect person to act as the interim Executive Director whilst we continue our search for a full-time Executive Director to breathe new life into this mature organization. It’s time to shake things up and redouble our efforts in protecting Americans’ freedom to fish,” said Robert T. Healey, Jr., RFA Chairman of the Board of Directors.

A Certified Association Executive, Ms. O’Hara has served in leadership roles at several New Jersey and national associations. Ms. O’Hara has also served on The Kennedy Center’s Camelot Circle Board, Project Children’s Stout Hearts, and the Blarney Ball Committee.

Prior to joining the Princeton Public Affairs Group in 2005, Ms. O’Hara was employed as the Director of Political Development for The American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC). Before ACEC, she was in charge of Political Outreach for Capital One Financial Corporation, where she developed the Corporations’ Capitol Contact Network and achieved thirty to forty percent increases in Political Action Committee totals during each election cycle.

An alumnus of Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, Ms. O’Hara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in East Asian Studies. Upon graduating from the university, she studied at the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing. In her free time, Ms. O’Hara enjoys golfing, the shore, boating, and occasionally casting a line. Her favorite fishing spots are Lake George, NY, and Marco Island, FL.

Founded in 1996, the Recreational Fishing Alliance (RFA) was the first national grassroots political action organization established to represent the rights of recreational fishermen and the recreational fishing industry on marine fisheries issues.

The RFA’s mission is to safeguard the rights of saltwater anglers, protect marine, boat, and tackle industry jobs, and ensure the long-term sustainability of our Nation’s saltwater fisheries.
