Sonia Delgado has over twenty years of experience in the analysis and management of legislative and regulatory
issues in public sector, corporate and healthcare settings. Ms. Delgado has a proven history of providing expert representation and guidance in health policy, strategic planning, and business development. She was recently selected to serve on Governor Murphy’s Transition 2018 Healthcare Committee. Ms. Delgado was also named to the 2018 Insider 100 Policymakers list.

A recipient of the Latina Civic “Latina on the Move Award”, NJ Biz Best 50 Women in Business award and Women’s Political Caucus Woman of Achievement award, Ms. Delgado has been acknowledged for her work and community service by the YWCA of Trenton and the Hispanic Bar Association, LUPE Fund and Emerge New Jersey. Ms. Delgado has also been recognized on the ROI Influencers– Women in Business 2023 and Senator Weinberg’s 2023 Women’s Power List.

Ms. Delgado has served on diverse boards and advisory committees including the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Jersey Initiatives Advisory Committee, Greater Trenton Behavioral Health, and the Princeton Area Community Foundation. She currently serves on the Board of the LUPE PAC and Oaks Integrated Care.

Prior to joining PPAG-Princeton Public Affairs Group in 1999, Ms. Delgado held senior executive positions at HIP Health Plan, UMDNJ-University Hospital, and Mercy Health Plan of New Jersey. A former policy analyst with the New Jersey State Senate Democratic Office, Ms. Delgado participated on the health transition teams for Governors Corzine and McGreevey and was appointed by Governor Codey to the Board of Trustees of UMD­ NJ where she served as interim Chairperson to the Board.

In 2001, she was appointed by the State Democratic Chairman to the Legislative Apportionment Com­mission. Her expertise includes redesign of the original NJ charity care authorizing legislation, scope of practice and licensure of nurse practitioners and physician’s assistants, and negotiation of HCRA (Health Care Reform Act of 1991).

Ms. Delgado has led coursework in healthcare policy at Seton Hall University and the New School for Social Research. A Fels Scholar, she received a Masters Degree in Government Administration and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Pennsylvania. Ms. Delgado has many interests including cooking, reading, kayaking, and hiking.
