Over the past three decades, Alfred J. Gaburo has earned a reputation as one of the state capital’s most knowledgeable and respected advocates. His practice centers around healthcare, insurance, transportation, environmental and economic development issues. His client roster reads like a “who’s who” of business in New Jersey including industry-leading corporations in the pharmaceutical, insurance, hospital, maritime and transportation industries.

Prior to joining PPAG in 2003, Mr. Gaburo perfected his lobbying expertise as a partner at Hodes, Shaw, Bodman and Gluck and at the GluckShaw Group. He gained extensive national experience as a Field Director at Bailey Political Consulting, Inc., where he organized and mobilized support from business, industry and community groups in grassroots campaigns in New Jersey, Arizona, and Louisiana. Additionally, Mr. Gaburo has served as Executive Director of the New Jersey Soft Drink Association.

Mr. Gaburo served in elected office from 1996-1999 as a member of the Borough Council in his hometown of Raritan, New Jersey. He was elected council president and has also served on the boroughs Planning Board and as Police and Fire commissioner.

Politically, Mr. Gaburo has served the Republican party in many elected and appointed roles.  He has been Raritan Borough municipal chairman, a Somerset County Republican Finance Chairman, Chairman of the Somerset County Republican Organization (2010-2020), Somerset County Republican Committeeman, as well an alternate delegate to the 2012 Republican National Convention and a two-time elected delegate to the Republican National; Convention (2016 & 2020).

Mr. Gaburo has also served as a political strategist and Senior Advisor to countless campaigns ranging from local to county clerk, Sheriff, surrogate, and county commissioner. He has also served as Senior Advisor on US Congress, US Senate and Gubernatorial campaigns.

Additionally, Mr. Gaburo has served on many boards and Commissions including Advantage Bank, New Jersey Real Estate Appraisers, 225th Anniversary of the American Revolutionary War Commission, Commercial Fidelity Insurance Company, Triad Healthcare, Community First Bank, Saint Peters Healthcare System Board of Governors, and the Chronus Healthcare Board of Directors. Mr. Gaburo has also appeared as a political commentator on many local, state, and national news outlets.

A graduate of the University of Delaware, Mr. Gaburo also attended the American Institute of Applied Politics in Washington, DC, and the Eagleton Institute of Applied Politics at Rutgers University. He is a Leadership New Jersey Fellow, class of 2000.
